Academy Singers is an INTERGENERATIONAL Community Choir founded in 2011 and directed by Sandy Rubright. Members come from Leechburg, Vandergrift, Apollo, Lower Burrell, North Versailles, Delmont, and surrounding communities.Â
ANYONE: Singers who read music—and those still developing their reading skills—are welcome! Singers from 14-80 years young!
The choir rehearses Tuesdays from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in Allegheny Township.
The choir performs for civic and church programs, festivals, community celebrations, parties, patriotic events, and other special occasions. Repertoire has included Irish and patriotic music, selections from the 1940s through the 1960s, musical theatre, seasonal music, songs by the Beatles and classics.
